From September 3–7, 2025, the 27th APLAR Congress – Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology was held in Fukuoka, Japan, bringing together thousands of specialists from around the world.
Our rheumatologists proudly represented the National Scientific Medical Center at this major event.
Saltanat Amanbekkyzy Bakirova, rheumatologist of Therapeutic Department №2, presented a poster that sparked lively interest among participants. The abstract is expected to be published in October 2025 in the International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases, one of the most respected journals in the field.
Lina Niyazovna Zaripova, Head of the Research Management Department, presented the results of a research project on the immunogenetic analysis of systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and systemic scleroderma. She delivered a talk titled “Immunogenic analysis of systemic lupus erythematosus in Kazakhstani population” during the genetics session, which triggered active discussion. Two additional posters were presented on rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus studies.
The congress was held under the slogan “Go beyond with harmony”, symbolizing the unification of efforts, exchange of experience, and joint search for new solutions in the treatment of rheumatic diseases.
Lina Niyazovna also took part in the Genetics Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting on September 6, establishing new professional contacts and discussing future collaborations.
The event brought together over 2,800 specialists from 60 countries, including more than 150 world experts, highlighting the high scientific level of the discussions.
A significant outcome was the decision to host APLAR-2029 in Astana, a recognition of Kazakhstan’s growing role in global rheumatology.
