Today, the first day of a clinical masterclass was held at the National Scientific Medical Center (NSMC), dedicated to the combined use of modern minimally invasive treatments for:
- Graves' disease (diffuse toxic goiter)
- Primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism
The uniqueness of the masterclass lies in the demonstration of combined use of thyroid artery embolization and microwave ablation.
The event features guest expert Prof. Dr. Isa Cam from the University of Kocaeli, School of Medicine, Department of Radiology (Turkey).
The masterclass brings together professionals in endocrine surgery, interventional radiology, and endocrinology.
Day 2: A new step in treating hyperparathyroidism
For the first time in Kazakhstan, microwave ablation has been introduced to treat secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease.
Two patients successfully underwent parathyroid microwave ablation.
This method offers a gentle and effective alternative to surgery, particularly for patients with severe comorbidities.
The masterclass continues, promoting the integration of advanced technologies into Kazakhstan’s clinical practice.
