April 12 marks Science Workers’ Day in Kazakhstan. This date was not chosen by chance — it is the birthday of the outstanding Kazakh scientist and academician, Kanysh Imantayevich Satpayev.
Around the world, science is a key driving force of national development. Kazakhstani science is rich in names and discoveries, and modern scientists continue the legacy of their predecessors with dignity, making a significant contribution to the country’s progress.
For the National Scientific Medical Center, Science Workers’ Day is not just a date on the calendar, but a daily, painstaking effort that transforms bold theoretical ideas into saved lives. Being a scientist at the Center means continuous development, moving forward, and striving for excellence.
The Center’s staff publish dozens of scientific papers every year. To date, more than 250 articles are indexed in Scopus, covering the most complex issues in transplantation, cell therapy, internal medicine, and surgery.
Only in 2025, 26 articles were published, including:
20 in peer-reviewed journals with impact factor (Scopus),
11 in international journals,
9 in Kazakhstani journals,
6 in journals recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in the Field of Science and Higher Education (CQASHE).
Currently, the Center’s staff are implementing large-scale scientific projects:
1 scientific and technical program within targeted funding, focused on innovative approaches to developing cell products for the treatment of chronic and socially significant diseases;
4 research projects under grant funding.
The flagship of the Center’s scientific achievements is its own journal — Journal of Clinical Medicine of Kazakhstan, which is indexed in the international Scopus database (Q4). The journal is also indexed in DOAJ, Index Copernicus, and Google Scholar, and is recommended by CQASHE for publishing key results of scientific research.
Happy Science Workers’ Day!
May every hypothesis find confirmation, and may every scientific project bring the most valuable reward — the health and well-being of people.
